What kind of airplane is this?

I was in the yard with my sons yesterday and heard this plane fly by several times. It continued to take off and land repeatedly. I figure that someone was practicing their landing an take offs. I live very close to the airport and drove over to snap some pictures. Any guess of the make of this fine aircraft. You tube link here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F--oNoIK5aQ

The tail fin (stabilizer) shape is often the clue, manufacturers often kept very similar shapes on different aircraft in those days.

Having said that, I’ve no clue on this one :)

My first thought was Beech D-18, which was also known as the C-45 Expediter. Most of them had twin vertical stabilizers, though. I did see one pic on Google of a single stabilizer D-18.

However, other posters appear to have positively ID’d it as the Cessna T-50. See the big pic up two posts...

My guess, a Lockheed Electra like the one flown by Earhart. With the biopic starring Hillary Swank coming out they may have found and rebuilt one.

Hey guys, not to put too fine a point on it but a question posed to a random audience about an unidentified aircraft was answered with a photo of the exact aircraft in question in just under 20 minutes. Moral to the story...don't mess with FReepers, we will find you!
