I think in some ways cankles are CAUSED by the high heel shoes that are foisted upon women as “attractive” by the fashion industry. I know many farm girls who don’t wear dress shoes much at all in favor of work boots and some despite being a bit portly don’t have cankles.

I think the stress of unnatural high heels screws up the muscles and fat distribution. The only high heels I will wear are cowboy boots. Some of those high shoes are torture devices designed by the gay men who have been running the fashion industry for the last 100 years.

Yep. I wore flats all my life and even though I’m a large gal, I don’t have cankles.

I’ve worn spike heels all my life and despite my ahem..advanced age, still wear them occasionally.

I still have “race horse ankles.”

You either have them or don’t. I think it’s genetic mostly.
