Another expat friend from Florida was in my cottage just a few moments ago.
The news he gets from central Florida is ALL bad.
People are walking away from their homes, as values are $30,000 less then what they owe.

On his last trip back there some months ago, he said people were walking around like zombies.

For me, I left in 2005, and have NO plan to return.

I think you only need to look at Britain and Europe.

Socialism. Lowered standard of living. Lowered national prestige. Growing capitulation to Islam. Intrusive government. Nanny state. A disarmed population. Anti-knife laws. Thugs running wild. Jail time for those who dare to defend their own lives or their property. Big brother. Government video cameras on every street corner. An economic environment unfriendly to small business. Government officials telling you that you can’t spank your children. Eight months on a waiting list to see a doctor about your cancer. Government telling you when you finally do that treatment is not available. Euthanasia if you survive.

But hey, I like to be optimistic.

Obama and the DNC have always telegraph their moves. “Never let a crises go to waste.”
Their whole program is to redistribute the wealth.
Not only did the Democrats cause the housing problem, they plan to take to the next level by making as many people dependent on government as possible. That’s what the health care and CO2 cap and trade is all about. They will take this recession and turn it into a depression. Along the way they will justify massive tax increases and trade barriers. THEIR MISSION IS TO REDISTRIBUTE THE WEALTH

Recently some Russian general predicted that the USA would break up. He even detailed which states would stick together.

I think he got the geography wrong, but I can certainly see the possibility of a break up. History is clear that large multi-ethnic and multi-cultural “empires” are ultimately held together only by some form of tyranny. When tyranny fails, they fall apart.

Secession was defeated in the 1860’s neither by ballots nor by logic but simply by force of arms.
