Audrey will probably end up marrying a rich guy, so she doesn’t need the transferance of the GPA.

Good story.......very similar one in the book, "The Intelligent Student's Guide to Survival" by Phillip Abbott Luce and Douglas Hyde, starting on page 96 (paperback 1968).

Both men are former communists, Luce in America and Hyde in Great Britain........great little book about one of the worst forms of government in all recorded history.

The people who want socialism always think that it will be other people’s money and property that will be taken, not their own (cause they are in the “in crowd”)

There was one about the professor giving everyone an equal grade or whatever. I’m too lazy to look for it, getting ready for the Packers game.

And now for a true story: In 1969 my dear friend graduated from college and immediately began work for the Federal Government in Washington, D.C. (GAO). Shortly after, my friend married a fellow federal government employee.

At the same time, when I graduated from college, I went to work for a large business and after a few years, took my entire savings and started a small company. I and my spouse worked seven days a week, 12 hours per day for over a decade and eventually employed over 100 people.

My friends had two children, bought a home, and settled in, making the drive to and from inside the beltway, for the next several decades.

I and my spouse continued to work long hours and continued to pay employees.

Over the years my friends: Traveled the world as their paid vacation allotments were increasingly significant. Paid off their house, and put their children through college. One time when we got together, they admitted that they never had a stressful day at “work” and that the highlight of their day was making up rhymes with their fellow car pool federal workers.

We had one child, who spent many hours with us at the business, and put that one child through college. We borrowed against our house on more than one occasion in order to put more money into our business and continue to have employees.

A handful of years ago, my friends retired. Their retirement is essentially the same amount as they were paid when they were “working”, they have the same health insurance they had when they were “working” and they spend their time having fun.

Over the years, the list of stresses, particularly attendant to having employees, took a major toll on my spouse and me.

I ask you, which was the better decision, way back in 1969?

To Obamacize this story....

The Father tells the daughter that he while he will continue to pay $50,000 a year in tuition, it will now be split between her, a high school dropout and 2 illegal aliens.

“But Dad” she protests; “That wont allow me to attend. I’ll have to drop many of my courses. It’ll take years to finish.”

Dad replies; “Isn’t being a Democrat grand??”
