Dear Ms. *******:
Thank you very much for your communication about our decision regarding advertising on the Glenn Beck show.
Our position is simple and was not driven by taking sides in any political debate. We support free speech of all kinds, and vigorous debate, especially around policy issues that affect millions of Americans. But we expect the speech and the debate to be informed, inclusive and respectful, in keeping with our companys core values and commitment to diversity. In our view, Mr. Beck crossed the line.
While advertising on the Fox network is part of our communication plan, we had not requested time on Glenn Becks show specifically. We have instructed our advertising agency to inform Fox to ensure Glenn Becks program is not part of our advertising plan.
Were sorry you are unhappy about our decision. Nonetheless, we must continue to be true to our core values accountability, respect, integrity, openness and teamwork.
Thank you again for your email.
Sincerely,
Amanda

I have instructed my wife to make sure that CVS is not part of my buying plan.
I tried to use the email contact form on the main CVS website to tell them that my firm would no longer be doing business with them. Phrased in a very professional and lawyerlike fashion, you know. Alas, the website/email javascript seems to be wadded up. You think we could have something to do with that?
Dear Amanda,
Thanks for the response.
I will be watching the placement of CVS advertisements very closely to determine if ALL programs selected by CVS reflect your core values of integrity, etc. or if, in fact, your core value is “HYPOCRISY.”
Because it will take years, Amanda, decades even, for CVS to earn back my trust.
Until that day, Amanda, I will do my utmost to encourage others to shop elsewhere, as I will be doing.
Sincerely,
I hope so. They need to feel the damage that can be done on our side.
I’m so sick of the left trying to silence free speech, and the companies that cater to them. It only emboldens them more. If we don’t fight back, they win
Keep up the emails and phone calls.
Amanda,
Sweetheart you have every right to pull your ads from Glenn Beck. Stand your ground!
Now pay attention, Amanda. You’re about to see free market principles in action. This is going to be better than any education you got in college. Keep watching. Keep listening.
You’ll know what I’m talking about very soon.
Sincerely,
The Consumers
What is their email address I’d like to get my two cents in!
My guess would be the WH in washington DC.
I wrote to the senior PR person in a fairly brisk way, on my corporate letterhead. Told her I was terminating the longstanding and mutually profitable business relationship CVS and my company had, and reminded her that the supporters of Beck represent an influential and financially powerful demographic whose business they do not want to lose in this economic climate.
Just ripped off an email to CVS. My wife is a heart patient and we have given them tons off business, that will end. Here’s what I emailed him.
Dear Mr. Cramer
I’ve have learned that CVS has decided to pull their advertising from the Glen Beck show. I find it disturbing that you think such an action is conducive to free speech. I can only assume that CVS has a leftist tilt since I don’t see where CVS has taken any such stand against MSNBC,NBC,CBS,ABC or any of the other left of center networks. I find CVS’s actions to be very telling about the political persuasion of it’s management. I won’t bother to point out the obvious. I will just tell CVS that this is not a hard decision for me and my family to make. If you are so adverse to our political persuasion we no longer will require your services. I sense CVS has decided Obamacare is in it’s better interest. We will see how that works out for you. I intend to make CVS’s decision known to all of my family and friends and trust they will do the same.
Regards
One lady getting into her car asked me what this was about, so I told her. She took her three CVS bags and headed back into the store. I thought, "Uh, oh." but kept putting on flyers on other cars waiting for the manager to come out and rip into me.
A few minutes later, out she came empty-handed. She grinned really big and said "I can get the same stuff at Walgreens." Two other people who were in line behind her when she asked for a refund left their things on the counter and walked out behind her.
I cost CVS at least $100 all by myself. Imagine what the rest of you can cost them. Get after it FReepers!
I love your spirit and activism! Good people need to stand up to the fascist!
My email to CVS:
To Whom it May Concern:
I have been made aware of your policy towards advertising on the Glen Beck radio show. It is disturbing to me that you have elected to base your decision on a political basis.
I have in the past, shopped in your stores as has many of my friends and family members. Due to your selected bias towards advertising on ‘certain shows’ because they don’t agree with your political views, I no longer will patronize your stores and have forwarded the e-mail below to all my friends and family members to make sure they are aware of your discriminatory practice when it comes to free speech on the airwaves.

So they are really only fair weather sponsors who support free speech as long as they are entirely in agreement or comfortable with what he says?
Hey, their money and their right to spend it how they please.
It might be different if he had a solid history of over the top statements but he doesn’t.
When the sponsor someone like Glenn Beck they should expect some provocative statements. Then need not agree nor defend those statements. But they forget that his style and content actually draw viewers to his show.
What’s Amanda’s email address?
I got the same EXACT ‘form letter’ - but mine ended with “Cynthia

Don’t you love how they say they don’t want to get involved in politics, but ‘in their view, Glenn Beck crossed the line’ with his opinion that HolyO is racist? LOL!
They’ve lost our business, and while it may not make a dent in their final budget, we’ll be sending our hard earned dollars to Walgreen’s or someone else instead!
Shame on CVS! Even if they start advertising later on with Beck, I doubt I’ll ever shop there again.
Yes, I love how they “don’t take sides in any political debate”, but “In our view, Mr. Beck crossed the line.”
It’s sounds like they just took sides.
Not that I doubted your post ... I just wanted to let you know I received the same form email back from CVS when I requested more information on their decision ... except that my letter was from “Kimberly”, not “Amanda”. Ha—trying to sound like sweet girls.
I am actually stunned by the comment, “But we expect the speech and the debate to be informed....”, implying that my (our) beliefs are uninformed!! Did these idiots not watch the POTUS say, “the officers acted stupidly” ... as he was uninformed?!?!
I know my personal boycott of CVS will not impact the company, but I am proud of myself......
The email is stunning, especially since they took the time to make it their form letter.
