U.S. cranberry production expected to fall 10 percent

BOSTON (AP) - The nation's cranberry production is expected to fall by 10 percent from last year's record-breaking crop, even as worldwide demand for the berry continues to steadily rise.

Still, the U.S. Department of Agriculture forecast, released Aug. 18, wasn't unwelcome news to growers.

I hope my First Wife doesn't see this! She substitutes dried Cranberries(Crasins) for Raisins in her cookie recipes. My Dear Mother would turn over in her grave if she finds out...

I went through Wisconsin on my way to Canada just about 3 weeks ago. I saw many cranberry bogs that hadn’t even been planted. That will keep the yield down and keep the price up.
