Police went to Jon and Kate Gosselin's home after the estranged couple got into a verbal argument, authorities told TVGuide.com Friday.
"On Thursday evening at 7:05 pm, officers from the Lower Heidelberg Township Police Department were dispatched to the Gosselin residence" in Wernersville, Pa., an officer said. "The situation was calmed down by the officers. There were no citations or arrests made."
The officer, who declined to give his name, said it was not clear who placed the call. But Jon's attorney, Mark Jay Heller, told TVGuide.com that Kate called the police after Jon denied her entry into the home. The couple's custody arrangement says Jon and Kate each have "exclusive privileges at the home where the children live" during their respective visitation periods, Heller said.
"Kate apparently showed up unannounced and uninvited," Heller said, adding that she also "expressed dissatisfaction" with Jon's babysitter, 23-year-old cocktail waitress Stephanie Santoro. "Shockingly, [Kate] called the local police."
The police did not take any action because they determined the incident was a civil matter, Heller said.
Kate left after the incident and checked into a hotel. TVGuide.com's calls to her lawyer were not immediately returned.
The Gosselins' children were unaware of the situation because they were being bathed by the babysitter at the time, Heller said. "Jon puts above all else the well-being and the welfare of his children," Heller said. "He was thankfully able to insulate his children from any conduct or any interaction or any viewing of the police that came."
Heller said he did not know why Kate showed up to the residence, given that she knew the terms of the parenting schedule, or why she called the police. He said her actions may be the result of the stress from the split.
"I hope and would think that she's a good mother and a good person, but people sometimes when they're under stress and strain don't conduct themselves, retrospectively, the way they would've preferred to. I'm sure in retrospect she regrets what she did," he said. "Thankfully everything was resolved. We're certainly hopeful that something like this will never reoccur."
Why are these idiots celebrities (or parents) ?
More midnless garbage to distract the masses er I mean serfs. People are fools to follow this garbage.
Money
You know, I’m not normally a fan of Child Protective Services coming in and taking kids out of their parents’ home, but I’m starting to consider the possibility of making an exception in this case.
Somebody has to step in and stop this circus. For the children (tm).
I never heard of these clowns ...
Or better yet, give them to the Duggars. At least they will take care of them.
These money greedy and attention starved parents (especially the mom) are going to royally screw up these kids.
OK, I had to look it up. Their claim to fame is that they are parents (after a fashion) of sextuplets. And drama queens...
BTW...who are the Gosselins and why should I care? :-)
Lots of folks love cop-domestic dispute stories. Except the cops probably don’t enjoy them.
Two months after my last ride-along the officer I had last ridden with responded to a domestic. The man of the house refused to drop a B-B-Q fork and was shot to death, not by my friend but by a fellow officer. It was a sad ending for all involved.
This sort of drama is bad for the Gosselin kids; it's something that's likely to stick with them for the rest of their lives.
Throw away your television.
Sad, yes, but not in the tragic sense. More along the lines of “pathetic.”
Stars of reality show 'Jon and Kate Plus Eight'. They had two kids, then had sextuplets, got the show about their family life, then got legally separated, after both had affairs. Living the American Dream!
Please, enough about these idiots already! TLC is getting the ratings, but at what price? They should just stop the show and try and let the two sides of the family workthings out for themselves, like everyone eles has to.
Maybe the loss of income that is being generated by this show would put both Parents in a better mindset, but it’s doubtful. That just means they would need to go back to work....ain’t that a shame>
People are fools to follow this garbage.
