I personally would prefer not to get mail on saturday. Leave me alone on the weekend; I get bills and junk enough days of the week. People who love me, call or email and that they can do 24/7......
To: fanfan
Hi fanfan
We sure do! Been that way since forever.

I agree. What I wondering is, if the USPS goes to a 5-day week ...will wages be cut? [I truly doubt it]

Wages may not be cut but a lot of jobs may get cut. Normally (at least in my area) Sat. deliver is done by a substitute mail carrier.
I will save a lot of fuel costs and other overhead. And you can expect Monday deliverys to run later than normal.

The PO will save some gas money I guess.
Some day they’ll be down to 3 days a week

It’ll never happen.
The American Postal Workers Union will make sure of it, along with the blessing of the unions best buddy whom occasionally occupies the White House between family vacations and campaign stops..

Recently Pres. Obama compared potential competition between private and govt health care providers to the current competition of Fed Ex and UPS with the USPS.
Moral: Don’t get sick or injured on the weekend under Obamacare.

When I think of Saturday mail delivery, it reminds me of home milk delivery.
It’s something we had, a long time ago, when people took pride in their jobs.

“I wont be missing it.”
Me neither.
Mail is down but PENSIONS are due because of MANY RETIRING. They are in a corner. So mail will be cut out on Saturday.

Try telling the P.O. you don’t want JUNK MAIL!
They IGNORE that and you get it anyway.
Whatever happened to “save the trees”?
