I downloaded the most recent Foxfire update and I have an extra bar below my Bookmarks Toolbar that I can't find a way to get rid of. The extra toolbar displays the active URL and has a + sign after it. In the old version of Foxfire, there was an X which you could hit which would get rid of this active link toolbar. I use a laptop and need all the space I can get for info, not extra toolbars.
It's probably obvious, but I've been through all the menus and can't find the right one.
Thanks for the help.
Thanks.
It’s really not that big a deal. I would just keep it.
Firefox/Preferences/Tabs/Always Show the Tab Bar
Uncheck “Always Show the Tab Bar.”
view toolbars and uncheck
thanks.....That just gave me 1/2” of usable screen that was dead space
Are you on the internet?
That did it - thanks.
No problem.
I had been annoyed by that tab bar for a week or so, and didn’t get off my duff to fix it until you asked this question.
I thought it was funny that View/Toolbars allowed you to eliminated every bar _except_ the one you wanted to.
I have 2 PC’s and an iMac. The PC’s are used regularly. The iMac sits in my living room looking pretty ... but does absolutely nothing for me. I hate it. It’s useless. Firefox has always been very reliable on my PC’s. Can’t speak for Firefox on the bimbo in my living room since I’ve never bothered to try it.
Another annoyance you might be able to help with. I just had a toolbar pop up which said “Firefox just blocked a pop up window” and in order to get it off, I had to hit the X on the right side.
This is annoying. I don’t want to be notified every time a pop up window is blocked, then have to take action to get rid of the notification. Know how to get rid of that one? I looked in Preferences and didn’t see anything, but maybe it’s not there. Thanks.
Used & built pc’s for gaming and primarily to use as a DAW. 2 years ago my son got me a Macbook and my whole computer-life changed for the better. I get more accomplished now in less time than I ever did with winders and I am able to create a higher quality product.
Wish I could afford a new iMac with the 24” screen /drool on
YMMV of course :)

LOL... I see we have one for and one against... and who knows who else out there... :-)
Perhaps some others could chime in and make this thread more interesting...
Feel free to send it to me...
Sorry...couldn't resist. You pass rather harsh judgement on something you have never even tried. Really.
Anyway, glad the fellow fixed his issue, now the hijacking of the thread may continue unabated...:)
A troublemaker, I see...:)
Don’t have a pic but the Angus tastes better. :)
:-) ... it feels like a slow day...
The new “+” icon that you see is for opening a new background tab-—similar to Opera’s interface.
This way, you don’t have to go to the File menu to select a “New Tab.”
Much more convenient.
