Talk show host Rush Limbaugh, former Bush strategist Karl Rove and other famous Republicans will play themselves on Fox's left-leaning "Family Guy" next season.

Karl rove In an episode being produced for next season, the Griffins' liberal dog, Brian, gets bored and frustrated because he feels he no longer has anything to complain about with Barack Obama in the White House. So Brian becomes a Republican and starts listening to Rush Limbaugh (who, apparently, also sings a song).

"'Family Guy' tends to be very liberal because it's written by liberals," creator Seth MacFarlane said. "So we thought let's give the other side some face time. So we put it out there to a lot of Republicans -- 'we're doing this show, who wants in?' -- and we got some bites. I'm sure the reaction from some will be 'you monsters, how could you have Karl Rove on your show?' "

MacFarlane was appearing at an Academy of Television Arts & Sciences event where the cast of the Emmy-nominated "Family Guy" performed a live table read of its controversial abortion episode (exclusive video of that here), which Fox has refused to air.

Could you, or someone, explain what is funny to you about this dead frog clip?

I tried to watch that show a few times back before we quit watching television at our house, and I have yet to find anything humorous enough about it to make me laugh, although I admittedly didn’t watch it for long.

I have a good sense of humor, and enjoy a variety of types of humor. Some things said on FR can have me literally laughing out loud and chuckling about them whenever I think of them. But, I do not understand what anyone finds hilarious about that show.

I saw a Family Guy episode where Brian was working for Fox News, and found out that Michael Moore and Rush Limbaugh were having a secret love affair. After Brian found out that Moore was involved with Limbaugh Fox News wouldn’t report it, because they said it would hurt their cause, then Brian went off on how that proves that Fox News is conservative biased. It was really juvenile.

I haven’t listened to Rush all week. Has he mentioned this at all? Why the hell would he and Rove give this show a ratings boost?? It promotes abortion, drug use, assassinating President Bush, and an outright hatred of anything conservative.

Idiots!!

Oh, no...

I don't know what Rush is thinking. This is going to be as much of a disaster as when Palin was “allowed” to be on SNL.

Remember how the cast mentioned how nice she was and pleasant she was to work with for about two days, then immediately went back to character assassination?
