"Gog and Magog are at work in the Middle East. ..."

Dubya has been duped with the idea that contemporary events have prophetic significance, just like the rest of his futurist cronies.

The only mention of Gog and Magog in the NT is AT THE CONCLUSION of the "thousand years" of Revelation 20.

Once again, futurists misinterpret/misrepresent the OT by ignoring the NT.

You seriously misunderstand Bush, imho. See my earlier ping to you from this thread.

I see the Pres. here spiritualizing “G&Mg.” into a general spirit of war in the mideast.

Ezekiel is the primary mention of G & Mg and not Revelation, and I’m thinking that a spiritualized millenial reign (already realizING) would also explain the Pres.

I’d bet money, given his background, that he’s probably post-mil. Place money goes on amil.

“The only mention of Gog and Magog in the NT is AT THE CONCLUSION of the “thousand years” of Revelation 20.”

Interestingly enough, Babylon is not mentioned by name in Ezekiel’s prophecies against the nations in chapters 25-32, Gog (Ezekiel 39-39), however, derived from a Sumerian loan word “gug”; is a cryptic reference to the forces of evil foreseen by Ezekiel and already operative in the kingdom of Nebuchadnezzar, Babel or Babylon. This supplies the missing judgment message and fits the apocalyptic character of the book by giving it an immediate limited fulfilment in the fall of Babylon in Ezekiel’s day, and a long range complete fulfilment in the latter days.

Babylon, in scripture, is synonymous with godless government under Nimrod (Gen. 10:8-10); under Nebuchadnezzar (Dan. 1:4:37); under “Mystery Babylon” of the last days (Rev. 14:8; 17:5); and under Gog at the end of history (Rev. 20:7-15).. The Sumerian loan word “gug” means “darkness”, a suitable synonym for the ruler of end-time “Babylon”, the “ruler of this world” (John 12:31; 14:30), and Satan, “the prince of darkness” (Acts 26:18; Eph. 6:12; 2 Pet. 2:4) who counterfeits himself as an angel of light (2 Cor. 11:14).

Nebuchadnezzar personifies the cryptic reference of “Gog”. His father overthrew Assyria, the dominant world power of the day by forming an alliance with king of Media. The alliance was sealed by the marriage of Nebuchadnezzar to Amytis, the daughter of the king of Media. By this marriage, Nebuchadnezzar became the prince of Meshech, Tubal, Gomer, and Togarmah (Ezekiel 38:2,6).
