In a remarkably disturbing display of what happens when Hollywood is in control of a child, the once-sweet Miley Cyrus, in shorts that would make Madonna blush, did a pole dance on the Teen Choice Awards. Miley, the Hanna Montana star, is just 16-years-old.

Of course “with-it” parents often cop out and get their daughters on the pill. That way David Letterman will not make fun of them. But it gives too much license to too young of a girl and takes away lots of incentive for keeping both legs in one stocking. That is why typlical coeds showing up for their college freshmen year have been aroung the block a few times.
meh... Someone has to do it. ;-)
Just coming out and singing doesn’t have all the pizzazz. There has to be some pyrotechnics, stripper poles, S&M dancers, or it just won’t hold the audience.
parsy, who says only in America do we think the stripper pole is the highest aspiration of a young girl
“My teen son gets the message when I put it like that.”
I told my teenage son (now 27) that if he got a girl pregnant, I’d personally tie his dick in a knot - unless he was married.
He got the message when I put it like that.
Achy Breaky Tart.
I also thank you for being that someone!!!!
She’s in show business what does anyone expect? They’re trash just like Britney and her parents. Just because Billy Ray sings country, it makes him less trashy? Get real.
Y’all are gonna make me blush. ;-)
“the pole was perhaps for balance?” — ??? Surely you jest.
She is very good but not great as a singer, dancer or actress. Her sweetness of personality has been her biggest asset which Disney and those surrounding her have used to make money. It is not wise to play against your strength.
I checked out the video myself instead of knee jerking and I agree with your assessment.
Sure the whole thing is a complete misrepresentation of the dance Mylie Cyrus did, but they want to get hits on his “chatter” blog. No one is going to pay any attention if it doesnt create controversy where none exists.
Thats just the way things are done, make a wild baseless accusation and people will come to see what the story really is..
I don’t agree. This is the same girl who took her top off for a photo shoot at 15. She wasn’t pole dancing like a hooker, but she clearly struck a few poses that made her look that way. To think it wasn’t intentional on the part of the guys in charge is to just play dumb.
Drag a $10.00 bill through a “Hillbilly” Trailer Park and you never know what you will end up with.
Strange as it may sound, from me to you ;-), I’ve always felt you had a very reasonable sense of appropriateness. If you don’t think the performance was trashy, then I probably wouldn’t, either.
I watched it, the shorts were a bit much. Maybe I missed it, the pole was there, she was there but I didn’t see her do a pole dance she stood next to it. Still a bad concept for a 16 year old.
What’s wrong with a Pole dance? Would you prefer it was Russian or German?
You can disagree, that’s great, but the “Miley Cyrus, ..., did a pole dance on the Teen Choice Awards” lead on the article is a gross misrepresentation of the truth at best.
Well they put the pole dance in, no matter it was labeled as an ice cream cart. When you hang on the pole, do a deep knee bend and thrust your hips foward. It's a pole dance, no matter what Disney or dad says. Also, she opens with very short shorts and her legs cocked wide apart.
I guess as long as you can't she where some women have an episotomy scar it's okay today.
Dad just said, as long as she'shaving fun it's all good. It's okay. Maybe she could have fun in the Baltimore Ravens locker room. It's all good donchano.
