He is holding a basketball but with the other arm. The hand does look strange, now that you mention it, but my guess is if we were to minutely go through our own pictures we would find similar peculiarities of pose.

It looks like Obama Sr went back to Hawaii in 1971...and that was probably the picture at the airport...and that is around the age of the boy in the picture. The caption is just wrong.
Ann was already divorced to Sr...so why this picture??

Has to be a photoshop or Obama had some deformity with his hand. You don't hold your hand like that in a photo. Where is the missing basketball it looks like he would be holding. Unless he was a narcissist back then and put his hands like that to be the focus of the picture because HE should have been the one to get the basketball instead of the dude below him.

Eh? Obama IS holding a basketball in that picture. Look by his right knee - you'll see it.

Obama supporters typically site the birth announcements in Honolulu newspapers as a main line of attack against the “birthers,”...

I have a lot more confidence in sources that know the difference between the words 'site' and 'cite.' Simple mistakes like that ruin credibility.

The thing I find interesting - apparently Pres. Obama’s half-sister, who was 100% undeniably born in Kenya, has a Certificate of Live Birth from Hawaii. Just like Pres. Obama.

I thought the “COLB” was legit - until this.

Seriously - now I want to see the full/long form birth certificate.

Pre-computers, you had to be physically present to register for college classes. Two weeks doesn’t seem like enough time to have a baby, recover, make a major trip (Hawaii to Washington) with a new born, and register for classes.

Therein lies a big part of the problem with zero and all of this. Remember, he was raised by his grandmother, allegedly in Hawaii. The timeline doesn't track with the practices at the time. In those days, airlines were extremely reluctant to allow VERY pregnant women to travel, so it makes sense that Obama mama could have been trapped in Kenya by virtue of her physical condition (i.e. incredibly pregnant!).

In addition, Airlines were extremely reluctant to allow a mother and newborn to fly, ESPECIALLY when we are talking about a trip between Hawaii and the mainland. In those days, it most likely would still have been aboard a propeller-driven aircraft, so the flight times would be much longrer than they are by today's jets.
