At the end of “Red Dawn” didn’t the Wolverines lose? I only remember them getting shot by the helicopters.

I don't think it's fair to say that the Wolverines lost when you look at how many communists they killed as compared to how many of them lost their lives in the fight.

Besides, there were only 9 of them when you count Powers Booth.

They must have neutralized several hundred communists before the film was finally over.

They lost the battle but won the war, at least the war behind the lines.

No... FREEDOM, LIBERTY AND THE AMERICAN WAY WON... the closing scene man... The entire region was dedicated to the WOLVERINES. America was restored.

They won and there was a monument to their bravery in one of the last scenes of the film.

There was a monument to them after the war. They won. This was an isolated pocket of resistance. There were thousands more throughout the country.

The Wolverines gave their lives but the fact that they are honored with a plaque at Partisan Rock suggests that in the end their cause prevailed.
