At this point, I can’t afford to pay attention, much less buy that, but thanks for the heads-up. Maybe someone here will be interested...
And if my aunt had balls, she'd be my uncle.
The Founding Fathers didn’t have a 2nd Amendment at that time. They didn’t feel that they needed PERMISSION to be armed. -
My dad was in the infantry in WWII, in heavy combat, in N. Africa, Sicily, Italy and finally, Germany, then thinking he’d have to go to Japan, as an experienced soldier, and help finish the job. He raised me, glad I was a girl, and hoping that I’d never have to kill any man. Me, too! But, I wasn’t raised by a coward, and I can’t predict the future or how the Lord will show me what I must do in the future as He wills. My husband was in the military and does not draw back from being armed.
>>The Jews in the Warsaw ghetto held off the the entire mechanized Nazi machine for two weeks with paultry numbers of handguns, molotov cocktails, and whatever they could scrape together.<<
We Poles are strong people and good to have on your side.
Those who have come from Poland and settled here are American first, but never forget their roots.
We will fight until the end.
Sorry, I replied to a thread from the cloud.
God Bless!
This thread has taken on new importance.
As the media laments the events in the Middle East where governments are killing their protesting citizens, it is interesting that nobody seems to say this would not happen if the fundamental human right of self defense were universally recognized, rather than attacked.
In other words, Khadaffi would not last 5 minutes with an armed population!!!!!
“Been meaning to ping” ping.
I’d rather die on my doorstep than bend over for them.
Might I ask if you wore the uniform, and if so, which branch and MOS?
I stopped reading right there. Idiots with keyboards.
Those "day to day problems" are caused by criminals who manage to get any firearm they want, anywhere in the world, in addition to knives, axes, bludgeons and, anywhere in the world, explosives.
In a nation of laws, the ability to own a firearm is backup for the protection of the entire Bill of Rights.
Then perhaps you could go back and read again, as that was the question the author was answering, not the view of the author.
What you gonna do call your hunting buddy. His house is burning as well.
Then for the remaining guns they missed you no longer can buy ammo.
They want get them all but I would venture they would get way more than half. Why you think we have to register them.
Oh...
And they’re gonna do what, 50-60 million households tonight?
Maybe they’ll only get around to doing 40 million or so. Provided, of course, they get help from St. Nick and his magic sleigh.
It’s a police action if they take guns away from one suspected criminal.
It’s war if they try to take them away from everybody.
This excellent, MUST READ essay by Bill St.Clair was written in 2003 while the klintoons were in the White House. We now have folks in there who make the klintoons look like benevolent libertarians. PLEASE READ IT AND SHARE IT WITH OTHERS as, sadly, the hot water in whiich we American "frogs" now find ourselves is considerably hotter than it was 8 years ago.
I don't believe it's too strong to say that we're on the brink of a catastrophe of monumental proportions. I don't know which frightens me more: The impending disaster or that so few of us see or care that it's coming.
Another example of how effective resistance can be against a tyrant was described by Solzhenitsyn in his "Gulag Archipelago."
(Solzhenitsyns wisdom may be updated by simply substituting tyrants for communists (but theyre synonyms, arent they?). And be warned that they are EVERYWHERE.)
"...At what exact point, then, should one resist the communists?..."
"How we burned in the prison camps later thinking: what would things have been like if every Security operative, when he went out at night to make an arrest, had been uncertain whether he would return alive and had to say good‑bye to his family?
"Or if during periods of mass arrests people had not simply sat there in their lairs, paling in terror at every bang on the downstairs door and at every step on the staircase, but had understood they had nothing to lose and had boldly set up in the downstairs hall an ambush of half a dozen people with axes, hammers, pokers, or whatever else was at hand...the Organs (police) would very quickly have suffered a shortage of officers...and, notwithstanding all of Stalin's thirst, the cursed machine would have ground to a halt."
“I bet if it ever comes to the Army against private (conservative) citizens, all the rules & squeemishness regarding collateral damage will go out the window.”
Yes. And don’t forget (not just you, but all the Freepers) there are already Russian and other National troops in this country.
Pretty sure that W was in the White House in ‘03.
Damn, got me!! Mea culpa. Perhaps my confusion can be attributed to the growing similarities between Dems and Pubbies. And it’s just getting worse.
Bttt
Bump for later.
