Better tools just mask poor skills. My favorite rifle is a Ruger No 1 stainless 45-70 single shot. Regardless of your choice of firearm .....practice with it till your sure you can make accurate hits on target at max effective range with little effort Stay safe !!!

Sage advice. Absolutely no one can maintain a 300 yard perimeter forever.

Good advice on practice. Also know how to break it down and clean it. The more you know, the better off you are.

My best shooter is a 1917 Swedish Mauser, bolt action in 6.5 MM claiber. Once I figured out how accurate it was, I stocked up on ammo.
