Nope. If you are unarmed and know it you act accordingly. A pistol that breaks or jams leaves you suddenly unarmed when you lest expect it. For a personal defense weapon reliability and ease of cleaning and use is preeminent.

If you are unarmed, you are a victim waiting to happen. If you don’t know your weapon well enough to know that it will operate when you need it, I agree, you shouldn’t be carrying.
