“I think the Sigma is different. This one is from the military and police line.”
The sigma was a blatant copy of the Glock with a very bad trigger. They had to stop making them when S&W got sued for patent infringement.
“The sigma was a blatant copy of the Glock”
Yep. Some call it the `Swock.’
“with a very bad trigger”
Again, yep, but it gets a little better every time I shoot it, or maybe I’m just getting used to it.
“They had to stop making them when S&W got sued for patent

I dunno about that. I bought a new S&W Sigma .40 recently, and they had new 9mms too.
It was half the cost of the Glock. Only striker-fired pistol I own, but I like it. Reliable, lightweight, 14 rounds ... but that trigger, it’s like squeezing a gas pump handle.
They stopped making them because they SUCKED.
They resolved the patent issues and continued to make them.
However, S&W removed the “Sigma” name from the branding and just used letters and numbers. I know a few people that bought the re-washed Sigmas under the letters/numbers and they were sorely disappointed.
Untrue, they continue to make them after paying Glock an undisclosed sum to settle.
They still make the Smegma. Its the bargain offering of the smith line, and Im told they work just fine. A friend of mine had the 9mm smegma but got rid of it due to the cost at that time of extra magazines for it.
