This will be a general purpose thread for F1 news and pings that really don't require a thread of their own.
Mercedes are ready to BIN their 2023 car, with Toto Wolff announcing the astonishing news as the Silver Arrows qualify six-tenths of a second behind pole-sitter Max Verstappen... 24 hours after Lewis Hamilton questioned the car’s design
Toto Wolff admits Mercedes car is not quite right ahead of the new campaign
It comes as Lewis Hamilton questioned the car’s design just 24 hours before
Wolff admitted that it is now a race against time to get things right this season
Keep it just the way it is.
i can’t believe that was ever uttered in public...
Yes, trying to stir the mob. LeClerc, despite his talent, Charles is just a hard luck guy and always has and will be. Hope he doesn’t go home and murder his family.
Reminds me of a book report I did in grade school about a hard luck racing driver who somehow ended up in a position to win the race. He was really torn between maintaining his hapless lovable loser reputation or winning the race outright.
Hope he doesn’t go home and murder his family.
ooooh sh1t...

To Coffee to hear...
Interestedly BMW looked for old granny driven cars to use since the engine blocks were well seasoned...
Exotic Fuel i believe it was called...
and the hand grenade engines are legend
I agree this is an interesting video but do these cars ever hit 15K RPM while racing?
I recall Daniel Ricardo being DQ’d from his home race for: “... a breach of Article 5.1.4 of the Formula 1 Technical Regulations, which states that, ‘Fuel mass flow must not exceed 100kg/h..’”
https://www.skysports.com/f1/news/24239/9216794
I KNOW these engines can rev but the ‘must not exceed 100kg/h’ is an issue...
Perhaps they are more efficient now????
NO... he says in the video it’s ~10500-11000 for fuel consumption but it can
Thanks
welcome
A post reminding me of Lloyd Ruby and the Indy 500 from back in the day. Really back in the day. I was a Ruby fan, and it was seemingly a guarantee something was going to break if he got anywhere near the front of the race.
He led five races at Indy but his best finish was third.
Was it his brother that shot Oswald?
Interesting question.
Jack’s particulars indicate otherwise.

Lloyd Ruby born in Wichita Falls, TX Jan 12 1928
Interesting numbers though, Jack Ruby’s birth day and month are the exact day and month of my official FR sign on date eighty seven years later.
