With more than $300 million in production and marketing spending on the line for the opening of "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" on Friday, Paramount has a message for critics: Go see the movie with everyone else.
A spokesperson for the studio confirmed that there would be no screenings for reviewers at print and broadcast media outlets, meaning if they want to see the film, they will have to go Friday along with regular moviegoers.

Not to mention the movie’s website.
We have a winner! :)
Ok! Ok! Ok! OK! OK! OKAY! OKAY! OKAY! Jesus... sorry I said anything. I didn’t research the film, and given what everyone says, I won’t be going either.
I haven’t spent money at the theater in years anyway. I’ll wait for the DVD (or the Torrent).
Yeah, Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity is so patriotic. Sorry, but this is the one world UN G.I. Joe, not an ounce of patriotism to be found.
I've heard the opposite. There was some thread (would have to search for it) on here yesterday about how the director of the film stated that the movie is meant to be the "anti-George Bush" or some such nonsense. It supposedly has GI JOE being a UN team instead of "American heroes"
Stick a fork in this one.
Ducking critics is only done with the absolute worst films.
Awesome schadenfreude though.
Not good enough.
If you had researched the film, you wouldn't have been such a strident supporter of it.
But now we know.
And knowing is half the battle.
You echo my thoughts nicely. Ditto what you said!
rarestia is soooooo outed.
Sgt. Slaughter?
Misleading title award of the year, I'd say.
First it'll turn off the anti-American Libs who aren't in the know, then it'll turn off the pro-American everyone else who are in the know.
Translation:
We have a $300 Million TURD on our hands and we know it.
When the movie critics love a movie, it’s either a real dud or just flat out insulting to most Americans. When they hate the flick, it sells like hell. Easy guide to determine if it is worth the 10 bucks.
And everyone who goes with a misguided idea of what the film is about will walk out of the theater feeling like they’ve been had and mislead.
I hardly think so.
The drones who made this movie intentionally removed the American theme in order to make way for globalist worldviews.
It will not be The Real American Hero that we all know and love.
This is GI Joe: A Real American Hero, who was an icon of patriotism throughout the 1980s:
The new movie has completely and totally removed the American theme in a manner similar to what "Superman Returns" did the the "Truth, Justice and The American Way" line from Superman.
There are several signs that this movie is a dog.
1. The release date. If the studio thought it was a bonafide hit, they would have released it in the May-July/Christmas timeframe with the other blockbusters.
2. Sienna Miller, one of the stars, has publicly been negative about the movie.
3. There are several articles about the troubles they have had editing this movie together to create a cohesive and clear plot.
4. It has TERRIBLE buzz from the industry.
