Carl from Oyster Bay ...?
Inquiring minds want to know...
He was involved with NEWSMAX in its early days, after he gained attention as “Carl from Oyster Bay”, and may still be involved with Newsmax. I don’t read it much, but it was flooding my Inbox for a few years with a multitude of promotions and gimmicky ads, come-ons, offers, etc., so much that it seemed it was no longer any kind of news magazine at all, but a clearinghouse for ad revenue.THey also still run regular radio ads for some kind of “emergency radio” equipment which we all need in this era of terrorism, the implication goes.
When I googled Carl from Oyster Bay, personal information with phone number came up for Carl Limbacher. He used to turn up everywhere.
I had a subscription to NewsMax magazine. It bills itself as independent. I thought it was conservative. I was very disappointed by some of their articles. They had a summation of the Bush Presidency that was entirely negative. Most of the criticism was from the left - and wrong. One article included favorable words for Barney Frank's contributions to financial regulation. I let my subscription run out.
Human Events is very good, but I don't like the paper they use. HumanEvents.com is my default webpage. My next magazine subscription will probably be for National Review. If I wanted a daily, it would probably be the Wall Street Journal or Independent Business Daily.
How much association did Carl have with WND during his time with Newsmax?
Did you ever find out about Carl? He has disappeared as assuredly as Osama. I met him a decade ago, and he seemed like a great guy,and a true fountain of knowledge. In Carl’s absence, Chris Ruddy has become rather chummy with the deplorable Clintons. If you still don’t know about Mr. Limbacher, could you bump the thread perhaps? Thanks! Bob
