Vanity: Anyone Else Having Internet Connection Problems?
Posted on 08/01/2009 4:02:04 PM PDT by savedbygrace
Beginning 5 or 10 minutes ago, I began having trouble connecting with a lot of websites. Yahoo, Google are a couple of the major ones.
Anyone else?

Have you paid your internet bill? The same thing happens to me when I go past due.

Uhm, that makes it triple!

First, try nslookup to see if you have DNS resolution:
C:\Documents and Settings\Residents Account>nslookup
Default Server: dnsr1.sbcglobal.net
Address: 68.94.156.1
> google.com
Server: dnsr1.sbcglobal.net
Address: 68.94.156.1
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: google.com
Addresses: 74.125.127.100, 74.125.67.100, 74.125.45.100
> yahoo.com
Server: dnsr1.sbcglobal.net
Address: 68.94.156.1
Non-authoritative answer:
Name: yahoo.com
Addresses: 69.147.114.224, 209.131.36.159, 209.191.93.53
If you don’t get DNS resolution, you don’t have to use your ISP’s DNS servers. Try OpenDNS.
