In walking into a major Japanese bookstore today, 23 July 2009, here in downtown Tokyo, and right smack up in the front of the store entrance (where they put hot topic books), on the stands I found glaring back at me:

オバマの仮面を剥ぐ 「チェンジ」は口先だけ、ウォール街の代理人はなにを企んでいるのか

My Translation: "STRIPPING THE MASK OFF OBAMA / "CHANGE" IS JUST LIP SERVICE; WHAT IS THE TOOL OF WALL STREET PLANNING?" written by Kazuyuki Hamada (Published by Kodansha Press) (English Book Title: "Find Out Who Is Obama")

From what I can see, this author has written at least 19 other books on topical issues.

The 7-Eleven Japan online book order form and review of this work (YES, you can order books from 7-Eleven online here in Japan) is STUNNING, not to mention the graphics and title on the cover of the book:

(My rushed translation:

"Barack Obama. The President who appealed for "Change". So now, in retrospect, has he become the big reformer that America and even the World had sought? But all that is apparant now that his "First 100 Days" are over is that he has done nothing for the American People. It looks like he has created a sea of American National Debt that on the surface was to forestall a great depression, this was to be only a bailout for Wall Street and no bailout at all for the American People. This is the fellow who during the campaign took massive sums from Wall Street, and has only gone on to throw around the American People's tax monies, a man with nothing more than a promise on his lips (kuchi saki otoko). And THAT is the real Barack Obama. Not only that, there are now doubts swirling over the fact of whether he was even born in Hawaii or not, which would affect his eligibility to be President of the United States. His big plan for a "Green New Deal" is just a big trap, he is also trying to cook the books to prop up the US dollar...") (it goes on and on). (End of Translation)

This Japanese book is not a major seller I must say (it is a paperback--but then most heavy selling books are paperback for use in crowded trains--and yet this was stunning to see it up displayed where it was in the bookstore on a front (entrance to the store) stand under "Current Events". Six months ago, the same "Obama" table at most Japanese bookstores would have been shamelessly GUSHING over him, uncritically. Now, at this Japanese bookstore in bustling Tokyo, not only did I see that book, but I saw at least three or four more recently written Japanese-language, high profile books critical of Obama, most questioning his leadership, his lack of depth while being good at speeches, and his ability to deliver on all the promises. Others are addressing the big gap in his North Korean policy and actions to date.

More details on this when possible, but putting up for bookmark material on FR initially...

OBAMAO will be more likely politically shot and destroyed from outside of USA since US MSM are largely owned and under control

It sounds like there's a hint of liberalism in this author. No matter, I'm glad people are starting to get a clue about this guy....

Thanks so much for the info. I’m not usually up at this time of day, but I’m glad I am now. This is another example of the Obamanation’s failure. Wasn’t he supposed to “clean up America’s image”?

Got the creds just now on this Japanese author, Mr. Hamada:

Born in 1953 in Tottori Prefecture (makes him 56)

Graduated from Tokyo School of Foreign Languages, Major in Chinese Languages

PhD from George Washington University (Politics)

Currently, Representative of International Future Technology Research Center

Director, Japan Biotechnology Venture Promotion Association

Committee Member, United Nations University (Tokyo Campus) Millenium Committee

Committee Member, Patent Agency, Government of Japan, Book Selection/Diffusion Subcommittee, and other titles, positions

(As I also mentioned, author of at least 19 other political books. Not a crazy, Japanese "right winger" I would say by any stretch of the imagination).

It’s a shame one has to go all the way to Tokyo to find a writer who isn’t afraid of the Liberal/MSM establishment.

But, in our defense, a book such as this by an American author wouldn’t find a publisher who either isn’t worshiping at the Obama altar or is willing to provoke the wrath of America’s Leftist literary establishment.

That, and the lawyers would be out in regiments, their tort papers flying in the wind in contrails behind them.

That is one of the favorite lines of people who talk about Obama, and that includes democrats and republicans alike. They all say he is good at his speeches, but all he is doing is reading off the teleprompter! Take away that teleprompter and it gets ugly for Zero.

Good report from Japan, thanks.

Hey, AiT,

Did the Japanese media ever investigate the 134.5 Billion dollars in US notes that were caught trying to be smuggled from Italy to Switzerland?

Maybe Japan is afraid America has been taken over by a Manchurian candidate and they’re trying to disentangle themselves from us financially.

The Japanese know the Obama story all too well..... he’s doing exactly what the corrupt bureaucrats in Japan did that put them in the horrible financial situation they were in in the 90’s.

I’m reading a few books on their financial collapse... and Obama is doing everything they did, right down to using the exact same rhetoric. It’s creepy!!!!

Thanks for your post!

After debating with the foolish and unperceptive — who think those who question Obama’s credentials to hold office are “kooks” and “ nuts” — it’s heartening to know that the cultures with the higher IQ’s are starting to understand our concern.
