They are a bit late to the game...

Ah, the soft farting of a diesel engine - in a motorcycle! Now that makes for some cool idling at a stop light!
LOL!
“Worst mental image of the day” award.
neat idea, but I think FedGov is going to make diesel uneconomical for small engines, especially at USA EPA emission levels for 010 and beyond
There is this stripped down alternative that isn't quite so cool...
all I saw was the “ama” in Yamaha and I read it as Obama.....I was fuming for a split second....the nerve of the guy......
I can’t listen to a diesel idling without thinking that the sound is “farting.” Not in a bad, chili eating contest winner sorta way, just the put, put, pot, about it.
You're right...Paul Crowe reported on the Neander diesel over three years ago.
It's an unwieldy SOB, at least in the form that I saw it in...but it's very possible they've improved it since then.
Don't know why the M/C world is jumping on this one...unless it's the solving of the realistic placement of the intercooler and the ability to put it into full production.
Interesting.
The biggest advantage of diesel on a bike would be range- there isn’t much room for a large tank, so the extra MPG of a diesel would be significant.
Jesse James made a trike using a diesel engine from a semi. Initially, he had planned to make a motorcycle but realized that weight of the engine would have made a two-wheeled motorcycle too heavy to return to vertical if it ever tipped. I remember him cackling about the whole project and proclaiming “this is just pointless.” That didn’t stop him though and the resulting vehicle was pretty cool.
Cool ole folks bike!! Fits my tail, except maybe the price that would go with it.
I’m, uh...frugal.
Saw a trike at the Oakland Roadster Show many, many, moons ago.
It was a jet engine with an extended front end. Kinda had this feeling that it really didn’t work. But, what an imaginary ride!
Hubby builds bikes ~and~ was an airplane mechanic in the AF.
When ya want it?.....:)
LOL!
The switch from “potato potato potato” to “excuse me excuse excuse me” would be kind of hard to cope with, fer sure...:)
