I, personally am a proponent of civil war because it appears to be the only way for regular, middle class, law-abiding folk to reclaim the reigns of power in this country at a time when they are rapidly being disenfranchised. These regular folks are peacable and merely desire to live under the tenets and rules laid out by the Constitution and Bill of Rights.
Sadly, those days appear to be over, and I'm not holding my breath for their return, because the GOP is impotent and incompetent when it comes to defending those values. I get the sense that they are in bed with the libs and are merely in it for the money.
Watch the ~real~ world...the trees, the animals, the tiny fish and water creatures living their lives unencumbered by the sturm and drang of human cares.
Isn’t that the truth? When you do go into the REAL WORLD...it is amazing the calm, rationale, peace, and serenetiy one feels again. Geting away from the CHEAP GLITZ AND CHEAP FACADES of the political arena and hollywood and TV is a real cure. Good Lord....just watching the news people takes me back to the Stepford wives. All looking the same with plastic faces and not a line anywhere. It is thrust on the public every single day to where people tend to take it in stride. Not me. Too much botox and trying to be PERFECT looking is NOT how life should be lived. I laugh though because while the face is smooth plastic...the rest of the body is aging. Even if they get all of that fixed too...the body STILL ages. Inside everything is aging just like everyone else or the common people. So, it is a joke on them when you come right down to it.
However, I digress (well not really) the whole idea was about getting away from it all (and that includes everything I said above which is why we are wearing out our remote control unit) as we won’t sit and be a captive audience for a lot of these clowns. They move from show to show with different hosts yet spew the same stupid stories. What a cush job.
However, watching the water, ponds, ocean,... fishing, walking along the water’s edge, listening to the many birds that sing and visit our feeders...planting things for the future and seeing them grow and mature, listening to a water fountain...listening to music that soothes our souls...THAT’S WHERE IT IS AT!
All of this garbage going on will come to pass as it always does. I believe in the Almighty and not those who THINK they are the Almighty. People in this world who think they can change the climate and how Mother Nature operates are in for a rude awakening. The weather will do what it must do whether we like it or not. So it warms and cools. So what? That’s how it is and that’s how it has been and that’s how it will continue to be in spite of what al gore THINKS he knows. The sun rises each morning and sets each night. Anyone thinking they can change that is plain stupid.
Find peace anyway you can my friend. YOU and your family are more important and it is YOU who will teach your family the right way of life. Not the idiots in DC who are supposed to be representing us. It is up to each mother and father to teach their kids from the beginning what this country is all about and how to do the right thing to keep her strong and free.
So, go enjoy whatever it is you want to do. Take that rest and know...God is watching and all will be OK. :)
Get a good long break. Get away. Get in shape. Get a life.

Did the same thing a time ago. Its great to take a break. I haven’t watched any of the News stations in a long time. Have felt so great about it. Otherwise I would have taken out a LCD screen or two. Just way to many american communist on tv.
About the side arm. It took me some years to get a hand gun. A storm happened and I did business in the area of destruction. So I decided while I would visit the area I pulled into a gun store and purchased three.

I totally understand. Every few days I give up, too. Then I thank God that I’m approaching 60 and won’t have to endure much of the horror that’s coming. And I don’t feel sorry for my kids. Most of them voted for Obama so they can reap what they sew.

Oddly enough, I became even more “this way” after 9-11.
Although we were all in shock and horrified, the day was gloriously beautiful, the sun was shining like gold in a sheep-clouded azure sky and everything around me, from bees and birds to squirrels and deer were carrying on business as usual.
It was a sad yet strangely beautiful flash of perspective.
In the midst of all of our angst and anger, God showed me that all things will continue eternally, according to His will.
Then...we got FoxNews on our cable finally and my life became stressful and miserable.
Every day I saw new things to be upset about...even though I could do utterly nothing about them.
I don’t watch the news any more....I read FR and even that is sometimes “too much” and I have to step away from it.
I’m getting older, time is passing faster and I had to make the decision to obsess about things I can not change *or* to take time to look at every tiny little miraculous thing around me, delight in it and remember it.
When I am laying somewhere, dying, I do not want to recall O’Reilly’s waffling rants or Pelosi’s strident screeching.
Instead, I want to think about the newly hatched crawdad who insisted upon hitchhiking a ride on my sneaker and the tiny minnows who nibbled my ankles as I waded around a shallow crick, looking for “good rocks”.
I want to see things as I did as a child, if only for a little while.
I am with you on that.

So before I get too radical and do something stupid, I am going to take a break, readjust my priorities and try to enjoy whatever freedom I have left.

Yeah, it does get depressing from time to time. Take a break. The ulcer's treatable and the weight gain just means you have to get more physically active. Beating your liberal neighbors with a bat is great exercise and you do feel better temporarily but think of what would happen if everybody did that. That's right, we'd run out of liberals to beat.
The truth behind the truism that people get the government they deserve - good and hard - is that they never seem to get enough of it to dissuade them from trying the same, tired, fluffy-sounding solutions over and over again despite their repeated failure. Human condition, my FRiend. Our job is to stay out from between their collective thumb and the collective hammer. Best of luck with that... ;-)
I have to take “News Breaks” from time-to-time as well.
We called it the "friends and family and while-we-can-till-buy-gas" tour.
Along the way, we decided it'd be a good requirement for our Congress people to do exactly what we did, and stay at Best Westerns, avoiding the big cities - versus Four Seasons suites - as a reminder that there's a real America out there.
