was he surrounded by a security phalanx and his 220-member entourage to the mound and back?? Did he stand on the mound?
Oh, the boos in the background...I’ll be interested to hear comments from those attending to see if Fox overlaid applause.
One foot on top of the rubber ... and it went all the way ... 66’6”
There was at least one leather-lunged guy close to one crowd mic. Quite a few boos overall.
Did anyone notice what I did? When Dumbo shook hands with Musial, did you see the guy that was driving the cart? He never looked at Dumbo and had this look on his face of “get the hell away from me!” Obama had to reach over and shake his hand and the guy still looked peed off.
Anyone notice that?
Definitely a mixed reception
actually its 60’6”. and how do we know it went all the way since the camera angle just showed the zero, not the throw? I dont recall a first pitch not actually showing the pitch. If you ask me, that throwing motion didn’t get the ball to the plate.
Probably have to pay comcast for a new remote control. My husband just threw it across the room when he realized Dear Leader was part of the game tonight. He hollered...”Well MLB can go kiss my .....”rear end.”
I didn’t watch. I can’t stomach that man. Now I’m ready to watch. GO NL!
Looked liked he was wearing a jacket and bullet proof vest underneath. Everyone else was in short sleeves and sports shirts.
I agree. There were a lot of boos. I don’t recall President Bush ever being booed like that. Loved it.
Stan the Man vs. Bam the Sham.
My money’s on the old man.
yep...lots of boos
I heard lots of boos, too.....at least from our living room it sounded that way...
I apologize if I am incorrect in this.
My cousin got fly out to STL to go to the game. He just texted me and said he was surrounded by Obama lovers and got all kinds of stink eye becuase he vocally booed him.
I think TV gives a different perception. On TV it sounded like he was mostly cheered with a few boos. My cousin said it was probably an even mix of boos and cheers.
Surprisingly, I heard no boos. I wouldn’t be shocked to learn that the crowd was padded with Democrats. MLB probably wanted to spare Obama any embarrassment.
So was Bush after 9/11 when he threw out a pitch at a Yankees game. I don't fault him for that. I do fault him for making Fox set up the shot so that the actual location of the pitch didn't show in case he shorted it. The shot travelled from the mound to a few feet from the plate so if he missed wide or short it wouldn't show. Never seen that before.
If the same baseball fans boo’d Biden on opening day, then logic dictates that the same party which Biden belongs to will show their hatred just the same.
Yes, the boos were heard. Had to turn up the volume just to make sure.
