Ok fellow Freepers, here it is: Sen Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-TX, will vote 'YES' in favor of confirming Sotomayor to the SCOTUS.

I believe she is ready to toss Republicans overboard in favor of the 20% hispanic vote.

I hope everyone that reads this is able to come back and say I was wrong.

Knowing the proclivities of BOTH KBH and CORNYN, I would not be surprised.

I hope you’re wrong but I fear you’re right.

The wild card is whether she wants to pose as a conservative, with an eye on the republican primary for governor, or pose as a La Raza Latina, with an eye towards the actual election.

Either way, the one given is she (like her stable mate Cornyn) is a poseur.

She wants to be Governor real bad. The hispanic vote is important. I think she feels she can toss overboard the Republican vote, knowing that a large percentage of Repubs will still vote for her, to pick up the hispanic vote.

This is one conservative member of the GOP that would not vote for her as dog catcher in Fort Bend County, were our county over-run with Chihuahuas.

For the general your prediction may would be correct but for the primary she still needs to get the nomination. Now I know a voter can declare which party primary he/she chooses to vote in on election day. So yes the hispanic vote could be swayed from that standpoint I guess.

I was recently down in Galveston and it has been over-run. By 10:00am each day I was there, I rarely saw anything other than hispanics with beer in there hand. Not a place I would want to carry young kids.

I don’t think KBH can beat Perry for governor. She’ll save her hispanic vote in lieu of upholding our constitution. She won’t get the vote of most conservative Texans.

KBH will want all the illegal immigrant votes she can get when she challanges Pretty Boy Perry for Governor.

I don’t doubt that she might vote for the “wise latina”, but hispanics aren’t going to turn out in large enough numbers to decide an off year Republican primary.

We need better candidates than Tex Perry and the ditzy blonde. Perry is somewhat the lesser of the two evils, though.

I will give credit to those in Galveston, though. They have really made a ton of progress bringing the island back, and it’s cleaning up real nice.

I doubt that the same could be said for New Orleans.

I expect both her and Cornyn to vote to confirm.

They are a big part of the reason that the ‘Pubbies are in trouble - too many RINOs, not enough conservatives!!

Hutchison is a RINO through and through. Of course she’ll vote for socialist scum. As many problems as I have with Perry, I’d rather have him as Governor than KBH. He courageously vetoed many questionable bills, including one that would ease up on publishing sex offender information - to the shrill shrieks of those on the left and, sadly, many supposed “conservatives.” Perry was staunchly for Prop 2, our Marriage Protection Amendment, telling the homo-perverts if they didn’t like it, to go live in another state. I can’t see Hutchison doing the same. It’s good to have someone with some guts in office for a change.

Didn't Hutchison have weekly luncheons with Hillary when both were in the Senate?

Kay will defiantly have a dialog with her vagina to decide where to vote for the other lady's crotch or not. She's not real deep.
