>Is it possible that Obama traveled with a U.S. Passport in 1981?
A: No. It is not possible. Pakistan was on the U.S. State Department’s “no travel” list in 1981.<

is this factual?
the only reference i ever saw in it was from th ny times archived site that said it was inadvisable but still allowable for up to 30 days.

does anyone have a clear cut web site that we can verify this information with?

No. Pakistan was not on a "no travel" list. Americans could legally travel to Pakistan when 0bama is alleged to have gone there.

The State Department was STRONGLY advising against it, but not forbidding it.

Still, there is absolutely no evidence that he travelled on any given country's passport.

Given the active anti-American hostility of Pakistan at that time, a prudent traveller would use an alternative passport, if possible.

Did "Barry Soetoro"?

No one knows...
