I was wondering if any doctors here or moms or grannies have any suggestions for "prickly heat."
Sorry--we shouldn't be laughing--prickly heat can be a beast!
Besides the obvious cures like talcum powder, cornstarch and Gold Bond’s Body Powder, I’m wondering if you take any medications that might cause the problem. I take multiple meds for sugar, hypertension, thyroid, etc., and noticed that when I get in the sun, the exposed parts of my legs, feet, arms and hands look like I have the measles. It doesn’t itch, but it looks funny. It’s as if all the red pigments come to the surface of the skin. Needless to say, I don’t stay in the sun very long.
LOL!
Try a paste made of corn starch. Works for me.
Thanks - no meds at this time (or yet) - thank goodness. Yep looks like the measles.
Walking about 3 hours in 92 or more degree heat with 65% humidity, lots of subscreen and a bush hat. Golfers or make that aspiring golfers can be nutty. I usually start at 5:30 pm and play til 8:10 pm so the last hour or more is not too bad.
The sunscreen on the legs is not real heavy put i am sure it is blocking pores releasing sweat which is largely Salt (sodium). I need to drink more water too. I drink it but need to drink more.
