OK FReeperettes, I need some help.
Its finally happened, just as I knew it would my face is starting to show my age. Quickly.
I knew it would happen just like this. Every woman ages the same in my mothers family and apparently, Im no exception. They get seriously carded, their husbands get flack for being with a teenager, nobody believes their teenagers belong to the - until about 40.
Then BOOM! Their faces crater. They go from easily passing for 21 to looking 45 within a few months and it all happens around 40. Doesnt matter if they smoke or moisturize or how much sun they get. The timing is never off.
Im almost 40 and for the last month Ive noticed the dark circles under my eyes getting darker, my skin starting to slack, and my pores starting to enlarge. I dont have many fine lines; however, if genetics hold true, the wrinkle brigade will be in full force by next summer.
But I will NOT go gracefully into that good night! Its too early for a facelift (plus Im a big chicken), so Im looking for a good face cream. I already moisturize, so Ive got that going for me, but I need something to fight the dark circles under my eyes and something that firms and tones the skin and reduces pores.
There are literally thousands of products out there. Id like to find out whats worked for you. Point me in the right direction my conservative sisters! Tell me where to put my money!
(One thing. I cant use Retin A. I have some permanent burn scars from using that crap for only two weeks a decade ago.)
FReeping for 10 years might be a contributing factor but the info on the good stuff to fix your face up was posted yesterday

.......Perricone MD High Potency Amine Complex Face Lift.....
They have a new version with amine c(19) that tends to eliminate the problem with psuedohydration of the nucleotide bonds.
Repeated kisses by a 20 something are said to do the job
Spackle - For Everything or Not?
Available at all Lowe's or Home Depot's everywhere
Best of the thread
See a dermatologist. They have all kinds of treatments today that can be very effective.
I also like “Kiss My Face pure C/ester C, which is available at Drugstore.com and Whole Foods:
It’s lightweight and I’m not allergic to it.
“Yes to Tomatoes” is also a nice moisturizer, and it smells wonderful:
Wow, I have to ask how do you know this? I didn’t even know I had nucleotide bonds! But I know nothing hydates like Perricone. I was shocked how thirsty my poor little face must have been before I started using this.
I would never do a face lift. I think women who have them look ugly and artificial.
If this is a genetics thing, you won’t have much success countering it as you’d prefer.
Generally speaking, what goes ON your face and hair won’t have anywhere near the long term effect that what goes into your body through your mouth has.
Sun exposure is certainly one exception to that, and there are others, but the generalization is much more true than false.
I was coloring my greys this morning and thinking more about this thread. You are right, what goes into your body is more important that what goes on it. Take care of yourself, eat right and exercise because when you have your health, you have everything. For the rest, put on a little makeup, get a nice hairstyle and keep your grey covered and dress nice every day. Keep your nails manicured and pedicured. That’s about the best that any woman can do.
Be happy and always remember, everyone gets old, if they are lucky.
I’ll disagree with you about the hair coloring (at my own peril, I’m sure).
Gray hair (or even white hair) on a woman with a youthful face and attitude is far sexier than any of the twenty something stick figures being paraded around today as the modern sex symbol standard. Take care what goes into your bodies and your minds.
Ladies, God has given you everything you need to remain attractive and sexy for many years. You don’t need to look to Madison Avenue for advice on your appearance and the products you should buy to achieve that appearance.
Philippians 4:8 Finally, brethren, whatsoever things are true, whatsoever things [are] honest, whatsoever things [are] just, whatsoever things [are] pure, whatsoever things [are] lovely, whatsoever things [are] of good report; if [there be] any virtue, and if [there be] any praise, think on these things.
You are right, of course. I’ve seen some beautiful gray-haired women. And God has given you everything you need to remain attractive but there is certainly nothing wrong with a little makeup, skincare and nailcare. If it makes you feel better about yourself, go for it!
I love her story, too...in the first chapter of her book she tells how she came to the US from communism with less than forty dollars to her name.
I wish I could afford Perricone’s skin care! I’ll have to save my pennies. In the meantime, he has a recommended diet that anyone can use. Lots of fish. :)
