MUSKEGON HEIGHTS, Mich. - Police have arrested a Muskegon Heights man after they say he threw the family cat up to 20 times, possibly breaking the animal's back and leg.
Police say the 30-year-old man told them he found the cat eating his food on the kitchen counter, picked it up and threw it.

So I guess Michael Vick should have just been fined?
Not my logic, it’s what FBI profilers have said. Google the 3 names I provided earlier or read their books, it’s really interesting. THose 3 things are the only behavior traits they have found linking such people as Son of Sam, Ted Bundy, Green River Killer, Randy Woodfield, and others.
Sorry, I think that I’ll go with the opinions of the men who helped establish the FBI profiling program rather than you.
I agree:
The studies on this page reveal the prevalence of acts of animal cruelty among the most depraved and malicious criminals in society.
Of the nine school shootings between 1996 and 1999, half of the shooters had histories of animal cruelty.[1]
The largest single survey to date of serial killers found:
36 percent admitted to committing animal cruelty as children
46 percent admitted to committing animal cruelty as adolescents
36 percent admitted to committing animal cruelty as adults.[2]
A 2003 study found that of 354 serial killers profiled, 21 percent were known to have committed animal cruelty, although it is speculated that more might have committed unreported incidents of animal cruelty.[3]
A Canadian Police study found that 70 percent of people arrested for animal cruelty had past records of other violent crimes, including homicide.[4]
Of 332 animal cruelty arrests studied by the Chicago Police Department,
70 percent of suspects had arrests on felony charges (including two homicides)
86 percent of suspects had multiple arrests
70 percent of suspects had narcotics charges (68 percent of which were for sales or trafficking)
65 percent of suspects had been charged with battery-related violent offenses
27 percent of suspects had previous firearms charges
13 percent of suspects had been arrested on sex crime charges
59 percent of suspects were alleged gang members.[5]
A Massachusetts study of 153 animal abusers found that within 10 years of their arrest, 70 percent were charged with other crimes:
38 percent were charged with violent crimes;
44 percent were charged with property crimes;
37 percent were charged with drug offenses;
37 percent were charged with disorderly offenses. [6]
An Australian study of convicted animal abusers found:
61.5 percent had been convicted for violent offenses against humans
17 percent had been convicted for sexual abuse
8 percent had been convicted for arson. [7]

“Nonsense. Cruelty-to-animals crimes should be severely punished becuase they are a surefire mark of sociopathy, and the ONLY thing that will prevent the perps from progressing to human victims is to put FEAR into them. “
Yep the mantra of the socialist Humane Society is just that. used to give animal control officers the power to do warrantless searches.
sometime you have to get their attention.....a gently tossed kitty with a loud NO...is not abuse.
Centurion, I think a few of us here would like to throw YOU up a few times. Then you can report on your injuries and let us know how the cat must have felt.
Sounds like it might have hurt a little,,,,
if the man threw the cat up 20 times....
Agreed. I just got in an argument on another thread (the one where the 75 year old bat pummelled a fawn to death). The other FReeper seemed to think that was just fine, if you can believe that!
You don’t quite get it, even though I tried to put it into simple terms. Yeah, this guy abused a cat. Yes, it’s a common trait in serial killers, but that doesn’t make anyone who abuses a cat a serial killer. Is that simple enough logic for you to follow without me further assisting you?
Read this again: Your All serial killers drank milk, therefore all milk drinkers are serial killers logic doesnt quite work. Good try, though.
I do not disagree with what the FBI has says, I disagree with the OP’s and your blatant misinterpretation and misapplication of it. Got it now? That’s why i called the post BS. Because it is.
The bottom line is that there are two restraints that maintain civilized behavior: self-control and fear of punishment. Animal abuse is a clear diagnostic indication that the former has completely failed; the only way to fix the problem is to crank the latter up to 11.
See my post #50, because obviously you need it broken down into simple terms, too, dufus.
Wow...just 4 short of the record!
we bought 3 water pistols the other day for our new kitten...of course I need a shoulder holster as none are handy for when I need it.....but yeah that does work.
started using it on my dogs too, when they bark for no reason...that works too. though my oldest mutt takes umbrage at the indignity....
MINDHUNTER: Inside the FBI's Elite Serial Crime Unit [ABRIDGED]
By now, the serial killer traits are well known: bed wetting, fire starting, and torturing small animals.
There's another website, Passion For Murder that says In it, I said that I had noticed in your book, PASSION FOR MURDER, that you mentioned one of the three FBI specified childhood characteristics of a person who later develops into a serial killer -- enjoyment of torturing animals -.
There's more. It does seem to be accepted as a sign.
Holy carp, is it possible to butcher a sentence into meaninglessness worse than that?
“in the air” might help because I’m thinking “Why did he eat thrown up cat 20 times? Wasn’t vomiting a cat up once enough?” haha
Is that the best (poorly written) defense you have?
Thanks. I’m fairly well aware of this stuff, but I don’t buy the logic that all animal abusers are destined to become serial killers, because it’s just not true. That’s what i was disagreeing with, and the evidence you present doesn’t support that, either.
1. Animal abuse is a crime.Really, the basic concept is obvious, and has been proven in other contexts (e.g. cracking down on graffiti vandals and other such petty perps reduces the rate of serious crime, by nipping budding criminals in the bud).2. Animal abuse is a crime that is known to be a strong indicator that the perpetrator will progress to more serious crimes, unless prevented from doing so.
3. The only things that prevent people from committing crimes are self-control and fear of punishment.
3a. When self-control fails, the only way to prevent criminality is to amplify fear of punishment.
