Rubik's Cube Inventor Creates New Puzzle

The inventor of the Rubik's Cube is about to confound the world with a new puzzle called The 360, an executive at Rubik brand said in England. "It doesn't need batteries and looks as though it should be quite easy," said David Hedley, the brand's vice president. "But it is incredibly complicated. There are some really cunning tricks to it."

The 360, which goes on sale next week, was invented by Erno Rubik, 64, the reclusive Hungarian professor who has sold an estimated 350 million Rubik Cubes since 1980, The Daily Telegraph reported Monday.

With Rubik's new game, players must get six colored balls from an inner sphere into matching slots on an outer sphere by moving them through a middle sphere with just two holes.

The London toy store Hamleys already has had thousands of inquiries about The 360, Nigel Wheatley, the store's head of sales, said.

"I expect thousands to be sold in days," Wheatley told the newspaper.

My fourth grade nephew could solve the cube lightening fast. He used to go around to schools and demonstrate. He said that there was a code (or something) that he figured out and you could mess it up every which way and presto! he had it back to matching. He was amazing. He is now in his early 30’s and said he didn’t think he could do it now til he studied up on it again.

It was an addictive video game introduced to Riker by some ho on Risa (the vacation planet) and spread through the ship. Wesley, Boy Wonder, was vacationing on the Enterprise (what a dork) and goes out with some engineering chick (a young Ashley Judd, IIRC). Anyway, yada yada, one thing leads to another, Wesley’s running for his life, and gets tackled and forced to play the game when Data pops out and deprograms the addicts with...a flashlight. Yeah...

Ah... that’s right. I forgot that Ashley Judd was in that episode. She’s a cutie.

Cute, definitely. Also a militant pro-abortionist. As one FReeper described her, she’s the type who would get pregnant just so she could have an abortion.

It is essentially an inflatable human hamster ball...

...or you can ge the hamster sized version...

The object of the puzzle is to get out of the ball before the 02 runs out...or the giant viking kitty gets you...whichever happens first.
