I think it was McNair whose mother was a flight attendant who switched flights to be present when Steve signed his contract with the Oilers...saving her life. The flight she missed crashed and all on board were killed.

You are correct. My kids and I met Steve McNair and they got his autograph when the Oilers were in training camp in San Antonio. We were there to get Eddie George’s autograph — he stood and talked to my son when he found out we were originally from Ohio.

Oilers were a great bunch of guys to the kids that showed up for their camp. McNair was a class act and shame this had to happen.
