I have Direct TV & have only had it about a month & rarely have it on.. Mom however never has hers off.. seriously. She cant figure out how to do all the direct TV (easy) so just leaves it on!!!
I scanned thru all & looke on the Direct TV directory on line but couldn’t find anything
BTW, Mom MD, Jan Ullrich did win the Tour 1 time, in 1997.

'Old fart' or not, 3rd is a very impressive result against the heirs apparent. No asterisk for Lance in my mind.
If I were the heirs apparent I would be very nervous about how Lance can perform a year into his comeback.

Thanks so much for all the updates! I read all of them and really feel like I watched it now! I have it recorded at home so I can watch it next week. I wish more hotels had Versus. It doesn’t seem to be a channel that very many of them pick up.
All in all a great Tour for Lance. I would have loved to see him win it but a)he was the consummate team player and b) I think Contador was too strong.

Versus’ previous incarnation (was it Outdoor Life??) on cable was typically in the 2nd Tier of stations, usually called ‘extended basic’. Still extra cost, but most folks have it. When OL morphed to Versus, they became a pay channel. I suspect it was a similar setup on Direct & Dish.
A lot of folks were quite surprised when they found out that they no longer had OL/Versus in their regular menu.
If you have a decent connection, Versus has a free live feed during the race. Small screen, but still. And it’s Phil & Paul, w/ the appropriate British accents. ;) You can also buy a Tour pass on Versus that gives you HD quality, $9.95 for the entire Tour. Pretty cost-effective way to see the Tour.
