So the penalty regulating Cavendish to the back actually cost him the green, huh? Wow. I guess I thought the race organizers would eventually rethink that decision. I don’t think they want to be accused to favoring a rider over another. Thor did go after intermediate sprint points after he got back in green but this is hugh and series.
The TdF was terrific this year but I wouldn't put it up there with Lance's wins or with Landis' win before the scandal. To see Lance take off on those mountain stages was thrilling! Every single time! The day that Landis rode away from everyone was also fantastic even though the whole Tour that year was tainted.
I have Friday, Saturday and Sunday recorded to watch. I told my husband last night at 10 pm when we walked in the door from the airport, "Well, we've got 9 hours of Tour coverage to watch. Wanna just stay up?" He wasn't going for it! ;-)

I knew we was getting close to 1K when I was posting all the Final Results, but refrained from doing a couple of BS posts for the ‘win’ (not that I haven’t done that elsewhere before :)

It was terrific! Without you guys I would have had to wait until today to watch it and figure out what really happened. You posted as things unfolded and gave me the inside scoop.

Follow up on some ruminations by followers of this thread on this year’s tour.
Had 3 or 4 year hiatus. Lance coming out brought me back- rooting for the old fart.
Thought that this year’s HD coverage was outstanding.
Phil Ligget and Paul Sherwen are outstanding. They outshine any flaws any yearly tour may have.
Regarding the thread, am glad that the bike wheels got back on the pavement. My thanks to those who kept the flag and the thread high.
Someone needs to start a Tour de France 2010 thread already and then ask a mod to make it a live thread at the appropriate time. ;)

Has to be said, George made a tremendous Team Leader this year - I do believe his intensely loyal team would walk through fire for him if asked. And now we know why! 5 stages with a broken collar bone to get Mark Cavendish his wins on the 19th & in Paris! Goodness.
