Man on the Moon: Moon landings were NOT faked
Scene Newspaper ^ | 07/02/09

Posted on 07/02/2009 7:10:46 PM PDT by KevinDavis

Jim Scotti takes lunar landing conspiracy theories personally because he took the Apollo missions and Apollo 11 seriously when he was growing up.

Scotti followed in the footsteps of the heroic astronauts of Apollo 11 by becoming a space explorer, albeit an Earthbound one. He is a researcher at the University of Arizona’s Lunar and Planetary Lab in Tucson, where he works on the Spacewatch Project.

Well, Shep is allegedly a "man".

LOL You can't prove that.

And I wouldn't lay any money on it either.

Punching one worked for Buzz Aldrin.

BTW, hooray for Buzz Aldrin!

I can't believe there are still idiots out there that think the Moon missions were faked. I thought after Bart Sebrel got bitch slapped by Buzz this crap would die a slow death.

Sad thing is any one of this dumb asses cancels out my vote...

Oh wait, the Chinese “moon mission” will be faked also. Right, how silly of me.

Not if they were smart. They could fake the landing, fake the finding of the footprints, and fake the replacement of the US flag with their flag. What would the US fakers do then?? Call them on it?

Every single person I’ve met who believes the moon landings were faked (not many) is also a 9/11 truther and a Holocaust denier. Some people have to make up the darnedest delusions to avoid reality and personal responsibility.

What I remember is the way the lunar lander took off from the moon. It looked like just a couple of sparks and the thing went flying up at a good rate of speed. I don't know how you can duplicate launch that on Earth.

I guess there's no video of Apollo 11's liftoff? But I remember this one, Apollo 17: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AXs4tncQcAE

I don't think there's a string attached to that, folks :)

“Not if they were smart”? Not sure what you mean, because what you describe next is exactly what it would take to fake such a thing. *confused*

Ah well, I was just joking anyway.

I’ll believe the man currently occupying the White House quarters is a natural-born American before I’ll believe that the Moon landings were fake.

If the chinese were smart, they could fake the whole thing, by faking what they did up there, with our fake stuff, and nasa could not call them on it, lest hey expose themselves...

. I thought that was clear, although I thought it was equally clear to be tongue in cheek, ...no?

Maybe with a /s tag?

I guess I'm not getting the sarcasm. You said they wouldn't fake the mission if they were smart -- then followed that with details on how you think they should fake it, if they were smart. *Still confused*

Not a big deal though... :)

proof... you want proof???

to the best of my knowledge, the USSR NEVER alleged that they were faked...

I thought they said it was faked and that it was impossible and that is why they have never went....wasn’t it also the USSR that kept pointing out how the U.S. “stopped going”??? In the past few years at least I know that Russia made the claim that “notice how the U.S. hasn’t been to the moon in almost 30 years..why don’t they go back?”

It was very good. The lighting experiment was well done, and they really excelled in their experimental recreations of the moon-walking gait, culminating in their actual 1/6 g experiment, which they proclaimed was the clincher in the way it led so naturally to the gait that we all saw.

I did think they fudged a bit in the boot print experiment, though. I thought their results were less than perfect, but they “rah-rah’d” their way through it with very little actual examination. Of course, there are a lot of reasons why they may not have perfectly duplicated the lunar soil.

i'm sure it was said, i just don't remember it ever being an "official statement" on the front page of any newspapers or headline tv news.
