How anyone can keep a Python as a snake, especially with a small child around is beyond me

Sad. The snake was doing what snakes do. It is so sad that a child had to perish because the parents could not see this obvious danger.

I hope they investigate this. Getting out of its aquarium? Getting up into the crib? I’m not sure this is beleivable.

As a new father of a 2 yr old myself, this story just horrifies me.

“Our stupid snake got out in the middle of the night and strangled the baby.”
The snake isn’t the stupid one.
Very tragic.
To: Kaslin
It’s not the snake that’s stupid.

an 8 foot python?
More “live in boyfriend” crap. If Mom is stupid and/or horny, the kids have a hard life.

Now why in heaven’s name would someone keep a python. That’s just stupid. And to have it around with little kids. Maybe it should have wrapped itself around the owners pea brain... STUPID! The parents should be tried in a court of law for being so stupid. I really hope they don’t have other kids.

The same kind of people who have pit bulls. I’ll bet they claim they can’t afford health insurance but have a couple of thousand dollars in tattoos.

Unlocked cage, snake had already escaped earlier in the day.
Florida law says the cage needs to be locked and it wasn’t. Stupid parents, poor baby.

Why even think about having one of these in a house with small children? It's bad enough to see people tempting fate by letting these snags hang from their necks let alone keeping them with little ones.

What part did smokin’ an’ drinkin’ and dopin’ and fallin’ asleep after the baby was in bed have to do with this story? Inquiring minds want to know.

The most disturbing part is the fish and wildlife spokeperson saying the snake will be placed in a “new home.”
