I’ve got numerous Macs, make my living on them, and I know from personal observation that they’re the best PC to buy, as other Freepers can attest.
Yet when we state that, we have seen more nastiness, insults, hate and derision directed towards us than I’ve ever seen on the Giuliani threads, the Crevo threads, the Mitt Romney threads or the Mormon/Catholic/Protestant threads.
There are Freepers here who are emotionally vested in hating Mac users, and loudly proclaiming their hatred towards us, and for the life of me, I have no idea why.
They’re just a tool, like what car you buy, or what truck you buy...but tell Freep something good about Mac and the haters just come crawling out of the woodwork, telling us how bad we are and how bad Macs are.
I sometimes think we should designate the Mac threads as Mac-Forum Users only, like the devotional threads, so’s Mac haters can’t come on board and put down our computers, us and our OS.

So you’re saying it IS a religion?
Church of Apple Macintosh? Hail Steve Jobs?
Yes, I am a Mac user AND a Catholic, so I have several FR tire tracks across my little back. I happen simply to like Macs and find them easier to own and operate. I am not emotionally invested in the brand of my computer.

I wouldn't go quite that far (yet) -- but it does get tiresome whenever there is a thread discussing Apple technical subjects and the usual cast of Apple-haters butts in to the thread and interrupts with ad hominem insults thrown at Apple users. Particularly noisome are those who attempt to equate computer system choice with sexual orientation.
Are those folks still in third grade?
I have no idea what mental deficiency causes such behavior -- but you can count on it here on FR. (This thread is the epitome: insults without even an Apple post...)
