Darn Texans...
I tell my Texas friends that I want to move there from New Jersey, but they keep telling me about these humongous cock-a-roaches the size of turkeys and temperatures that get up to 140 in the day and down to -20 at night.
I guess I’ll just have to stay in New Jersey...
I haven't seen any roaches big enough to put a saddle on, but the ones I have seen are nothing to sneeze at.
The bigger issue are the fire ants. You haven't lived until you suddenly realize you've been standing on an ant bed for the past several minutes.
Our family lived in NJ back in the early 70s (Hunterdon County). One of the things I loved about living up there was that you could lay down in the grass and not worry about being eaten alive. You just can't do that down here.
