The images were taken by Japan's Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer (Aster) aboard the Terra satellite. The resulting Global Digital Elevation Map covers 99% of the Earth's surface, and will be free to download and use.

Art Bell will have a dozen shows about what is hidden in the remaining one percent.

Why do I always get lost when I drive into or near Rising Sun MD?

Well since I was 16 living in the Brandywine Valley I’d go out driving and get lost on purpose. It was fun back then but honestly, in my 40s, I unintentionally get lost and keep on ending up in Rising Sun MD. Its spooky.
