SPRING VALLEY LAKE • What possibly started as a fight over a crow led to a melee involving at least 50 people during Spring Valley Lake’s Family Festival, according to San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Victor Valley station officials.
Two groups of people were barbecuing along the east beach near Spring Valley Parkway and Country Club Drive on Saturday night when a member of the first group kicked a crow that was hopping around their area, said Stella Hodson, spokeswoman for the Victor Valley station.
“Someone from the second group took exception to the abuse of the bird and confronted the first man,” she said, adding that’s when the initial verbal fight broke out.
The second man, who has not been identified, picked up a wrench and hit the man who’d kicked the crow over the head. At that time, people from both groups began to brawl.
When deputies arrived several people ran away.
Deputies took the man who wielded the wrench to a local hospital after he was beaten by the victim’s friends, Hodson said. The victim drove himself to a hospital.

And next, the dope will get charged with assault.
Although there is no reason for animal cruelty doesn’t it strike you as hypocritical the fact that the one objecting to violence against an animal used violence himself against a fellow man. Violence against animal = bad, violence against human = good.
We are so out of whack where we care more about animals than humans, I can almost guarantee the guy who kicked the bird could go to jail longer than the guy who assaulted him.
No Family Festival would be complete without a riot.
