A will drafted by Michael Jackson in 2002 which divides the singer's estate among his mother, three children and one or more charities could play a central role in determining how his tangled financial relationships will be unwound.
Several people close to the late Mr. Jackson said that a lawyer for the pop singer could submit the will, believed to be his last, to Los Angeles Superior Court as soon as Thursday. That filing would cap a tense period in which relatives and advisers of the late singer debated what document, if any, was valid.
One or two other earlier wills have emerged since Mr. Jackson's death last Thursday, according to people familiar with the situation. The Associated Press reported that Mr. Jackson's parents, Joseph and Katherine Jackson, said in a Monday court filing that they believed the singer had died without a valid will. Joseph Jackson isn't believed to be included in the most recent will

I’m surprised that the NoI hasn’t produce a will naming them as the sole recipient....OTOH Wonder what the charities listed are?
If his father is not listed in the will, does that mean he takes back all of his kind, lovely, totally honest and sincere and from-the-heart comments he’s made in the last week?
I’m glad he left his father out
I wondered (at the time) if Lisa Marie Pressley’s marriage to Michael was promoted by Scientologists to get to his $$$$.
Scientologists not involved in his life recently...But the NoI has really taken over.
Try it yourself. How would you like to inherit 1/5 of -$300 million?
Maybe that was why the attorney was rehired..and the will making NOI a beneficiary hadn’t been finalized.
He was in such bad shape they were using undue influence on him and taking his money. MJ didn’t get paid the advance money from the promoter. He thought he was signing up for 10 concerts..and his handlers saw dollars signs and made it 50 concerts.
I hope no new will surfaces.
I think MJ will go down as one of the great mysteries..along with JFK and Marilyn Monroe as to just how he died and was he murdered.
The revelations about his life are going to come rolling out..will we be shocked? I doubt it. We already know his life was quite bizarre.
***Oh boy, get ready for Jarndyce vs. Jarndyce, 21st century style. (Reference to Dickens’ Bleak House)***
Just finished listening to the book on CD...
what Dickens said about the corruption in the legal community of 19th century England is even more applicable for us today in obamanation.
Should be required reading/listening for all conservatives.
I figure when his kids are grown we might get a tell all book or two.....won’t be pretty, I imagine.
I was wondering if Joe Jackson ( Dad ) got a free bowl of soup with the hat he had on
It is really quite simple. The estate will go positive. There is no doubt about that. It is just a question of when it will happen . That depends on what he did with the Beatles catalog. Did he give it to McCartney?
Also, MJ should have put things in a trust for the kids..not touchable by creditors..such as the unpublished songs. The trust details don’t have to be made public but probably will because of the soon to be lawsuits.
Add to that the probably wrongful death suit that is coming.
I just listened to the Tantor edition myself ... 39 HOURS! Whew. By the way, the six hour 1985 BBC video adaptation with Diana Rigg as Lady Dedlock is very well done and reasonably priced.
Has he got any “net worth”?
What a narcissist Joe is. He thinks he deserves all the credit for Michael’s success and swears he never “beat” him. He explained that beating were done with stick; he used a belt. He called his “whoopin’s”.
On thing I can pretty much guarantee is that a number of lawyers are gonna get *very* rich thanks to this case.
well lookee here.
Debbie Rowe was not the mother.Jackson not the father.
