After just five days, "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" is halfway to $400 million domestically, a box-office milestone only eight other movies have reached. If it climbs that high, the "Transformers" sequel will be by far the worst-reviewed movie ever to make the $400 million club.
Critics and mainstream crowds often disagree, but "Revenge of the Fallen" sets a new standard for the gulf between what reviewers and mass audiences like.

If you have seen this movie is it worth the price of admission?
I could have told the writer that.
The reviews just confirmed that I would like the movie. Me and the munchkin will see it this coming weekend.
If you liked the first one, you will like this one as well. I still think the first one was slightly better, but Revenge is a close second.
Non-stop rock ‘em sock ‘em action, and explosions galore. Plus some pretty fair cheesecake and periodic comic relief. Two thumbs up.
The other 85% of the movie is just giant robots and the U.S. military slugging it out. Which is also fantastic.
Pro-U.S. military. Anti-Obama flavored appeasement. Any wonder that the critics hate it, and the country loves it?
I didn’t like it - too cheesy. Don’t get me wrong, if you’re just looking for special effects, go for it, it’s awesome in that respect. But the script, that’s another story. Felt like the script was an afterthought - I thought they would have put more into the story like they did in the first movie...they didn’t.
The first one was better, of course. But I liked this one, and will probably see it again because a lot of things happen and a lot of dialogue gets missed because of all the action. The ending is a little drawn out, but it is forgivable because of all the action. There is some good humor in it also.
I think post #6 by Steel Wolf gives another take that is worth considering.
My kids have all seen it, twice.
First on IMAX then in regular theatres.
They all say they would see it again.
AGES: 23, 18, 15.
The report from Buckhead seems accurate, and in line with what my kids said: good sequel, more action, adequate plot, funny new characters (ice cream truck mini-bots; you’ll see ‘em and laugh).
Megan Fox has some good cheesecake competition as well.
It’s a fun, exciting, eye-filling ENTERTAINMENT, non-preachy movie.
Liberals are the world’s best at projecting, and apparently in this movie, the US President is a wuss, and SOME are taking this as a swipe at Obama. Permits therein lies the criticism.

(can someone please photoshop out the tattoos? They're screwing up my viewing pleasure!)

I'm not denying that there were parts of it that were a critique on the current dictatorsh...I mean, administration. It's just that, for me at least, the cheese outweighed the rest. Maybe I was in a bad mood Friday, but I just wasn't crazy about it.
YES!
"...So, to sum up: Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen is one of the greatest achievements in the history of cinema, if not the greatest. You could easily argue that cinema, as an artform, has all been leading up to this. It will destabilize your limbic system, probably forever, and make you doubt the solidity of your surroundings. Generations of auteurs have struggled, in vain, to create a cinematic experience as overwhelming, and as liberating, as ROTF...."
My son, age 23, and I saw it yesterday. It was well worth the admission price. I thought the only drawback was that it seemed to have a great deal more vulgar language than the first.
I never pay attention to reviews. We saw it yesterday, and thought it was very good, and certainly worth the $7.50 admission.
The kid's room-mate screaming like a little girl was pretty funny. So was "That's 'cause it's an a**-whoppin' ... it's supposed to hurt."
Hmm... Our federal govt. needs an a-w too, get put back in its place of serving us, rather than ruling us.
‘The entire plot revolves around a critique of Obamas foreign policy’???...what movie did you see? Yeah they call him out by name...as the POTUS because it was supposed to be happening in the present!!
Why would you go to a movie about giant, alien, battle transforming robots, to be concerned with the script?
