More likely scenario is that someone, such as Mays, got up after the plane landed and as soon as it began to slow down a little.
The person could have been standing there in the aisle with the overhead bin door open, getting stuff out, when the plane blew a tire and jolted. Probably lost his balance and something came out of the open bin and conked him on the head.

I suppose that's possible but how often do you see people get up before the aircraft has slowed to 10-15 MPH...that is,when it's within feet of the gate? I've never done it and I've never seen it and I've done a fair amount of flying in my day.
I’ve never known anyone to get out of their seat until the aircraft was off the runway and nearly at the gate. Aircraft tires blow out on landing, not on the taxi back to the gate.
It was already reported that the tire blew on landing, not taxiing. Big difference when the reports also said the front tire blew when it came into contact with the runway, before the reversers are activated. It would have been leaked out by anyone riding on that plane that he stood up while it was in the process of getting all the wheels on the ground.
