I saw another comment on the forum that 6.24r3 is slower than 6.23, and it seemed to related to this error. SMP was waiting for a manual restart.
I also found a question regarding memory allocation under 32 bit Windows, and SMP needed more memory.
It is a strange and under-reported problem.
oh ok... thank you. I just didn’t want CPU cycles gone without crediting our team.
and don’t forget sneakernet! man those days were fast! lol

Our next big push will be for 200,000 ppd.
Looking at some of our old threads, we were thrilled when we hit 20,000 ppd.
Remember, Team 36120!
True, true. :’D I was looking at a box of diskettes at Best Buy not long ago. Eight bucks I think it was. A one gig flash drive holds over 700 diskettes worth, meaning to duplicate the capacity one would need $560, not counting tax and the wheelbarrow. ;’) Of course, the files were way smaller at that time. And when the Syquest 44 mb removable winchesters took over at the self-service printing companies, it seemed like a whole new world. It was really sneakernet times 40; and using a flash drive for the same job isn’t much different. :’) And it’s very often far more convenient.
I did not see any core errors in the logs. Just slowly executing steps.
Try a restart and check it again in an hour.
I'll look around the forums.
I had it installed wrong. I set up 6.24 as it’s own instance, instead of replacing 6.23 with it. When I followed the instructions, the PPD is the same as before. Maybe a little higher.
With the continued improvements to F@H we are seeing all work units becoming more efficient as compared to just a few years ago.
Just got an EVGA GTS 250 and new power supply for the kids’ computer. PS installed and running great. The 250 would be in tonight, but I forgot to order a new SATA cable, since the new card extends too far. Hope to have it up and running tomorrow....C
I don’t know what that means but it sounds like serious bragging rights.
