Has anyone noticed that the write ups then used complex sentences, good grammar and were easy to read? These days, the reporters write to sixth grade level readers, and the editing is so poor you think that they must only use spell check and print!

These days, the reporters write to sixth grade level readers . . .I think the writing in 1939 was aimed at the same grade level as now, it's just that now the grade levels are dumbed down. Read the editorials and letters to the editor I posted Thursday for a good sampling of the writing style and reader comprehension of that time. (The title is "Spend and Spend.")
