Ping to the Weekly Gardening Ping List.

I hope all of you will stop by.

This is typically a low volume ping list. Once a week for the thread and every once in a while for other FR threads posted that might be of interest.

If you would like to be added to or removed from the list please let me know by FreepMail or by posting to me.

Thanks for the thread. I just started getting tomatoes, have gotten some zucchini, green beans and cucumbers. Eggplant is flowering (as is watermelon) but it’s still a ways off.

I love this time of year. I’m so anxious for all of the garden-ripe veggies. I’m committed to canning and freezing this year so I’m hoping for a bumper crop of everything!

I'm looking forward to seven varieities of "heirlooms" this year!

Some of the plants ..not the heirloom ones.....have leaves at the bottom of the plant that are turning yellow. No brown, no spots ...so I'm pinching them off.

Do you think this is just b/c it has been so wet in the northeast?

Good morning my friend!

My daughter picked her first radishes this week, but for the moment that is all we have ready to pick, although I do have one yellow squash that will be ready this weekend.

I have gargantuan tomato plants that stand over 5 feet tall with lots of blossoms, but hardly any fruit yet :(

We picked a few blueberries yesterday, from the bush I thought was dead, but they still need a few more days. Blackberries and black raspberries have all of a sudden exploded, again from bushes/canes I thought were toast.

With luck we’re going to be doing another massive planting this weekend, with a little bit of everything, and a lot of some things!

We cooked about 6 quarts of tomatoes yesterday and canned them for sauces later. No new tomatoes putting on, since we have the upper 70 - lower 80 temps at night.

I just took these photos. We didn't plant until Memorial Day as it was too cold and too wet in MO.
