I was very young when Pres. Kennedy was assassinated, but to compare the two?

OK, to anyone who watches the news, even Fox News, this is what we will have to deal with in the next few days. Not Iran. Not the North Koreans who want to blow us off the face of the earth. I will bet my bottom dollar that Obama will make a statement, or in some way be connected with Jackson's funeral/memorial service. When I turn on the TV until this blows over, I'm just going to watch my DVR'd episodes of the Andy Griffith Show.

It is truly bizarre.

So he died, sad...but so what?

Meanwhile cap-and-trade Marxism is coming on, health insurance with no GOP input and North Korea is rattling sabers...and all we get is stupid Michael Jackson news.

Yes, I think he’s sneaking onto a plane to Argentina again as we type.

I’m going to watch Bonanza episodes on Youtube. I wasn’t alive for the Kennedy assassination but geesh I can’t imagine the comparison. Oh wait...I did hear that Shephard Smith cried much like Walter Cronkite. 24 hour news channels have led to the death of real journalism.

We’re unfortunately a pop culture nation. We’ve got a celebrity president and so on. Unfortunately reality might be hitting Hawaii next week.

Burn Notice. USA Network. Thursdays. Odd thing about a doc in the Hamptons after Burn Notice, but the scenery’s cool in both shows.

I love Fiona’s character in Burn Notice: “Can we shoot them?” She’s absolutely friggin’ great.

I agree. With all that is going on in the world and the bills that are before Congress could we please go back to the news and not follow the hearse?

Yeah he is on knees thanking Jesus big time. The news was slow before this, the media couldn’t spend any more time covering Iran and North Korea cause it made the President look bad.

I'll always remember him most for his love of children, particularly little boys.

I think the JFK comparison is ridiculous also. A better comparison is with Elvis Presley. Like Jackson, Elvis was a music icon who went to seed in his later years. The last few years of Elvis' life were almost as pathetic as those as Michael Jackson. Although I should point out that Elvis at least never engaged in deviant pedophile behavior (though his obsession with his mother was more than a little odd).

Like Elvis, expect to hear about Michael Jackson sightings at Burger Kings, Walmarts and zoos for about the next 20 years.

Well, I remember where I was when Elvis died. I don’t find this as surprising, but it will be hype a la Princess Diana.

I read it first on FreeRepublic, of course. My attitude was like, hmmm, really. On the same day as Farrah. But it wasn’t like I jumped up to tell my husband. I figured he would know soon enough.
