It means praise.

Please note that it's a singular, not a plural, so it takes a singular verb (kudos IS due, not kudos ARE due). The plural is kudoi.

Thank you! Interesting that it is a singular -— most people treat it as a plural. Yes, those old college courses do sometimes come in handy. I am waiting for some use for my time spent on Heraclitus in a philosophy course.
