Kudos is a singular? of course it is! apparently I’ve forgotten all of my New Testament Greek! :-D

Problem is, non-Greek speakers see the S on the end and figure it's a plural. A reasonable assumption if you think it's an English word you don't know.

NT Greek is readable with a classical education -- with a lexicon!
